Studying microbiology here was a valuable experience for me. The lecturers really knew their stuff and were willing to explain difficult concepts, which made learning a lot easier. I also liked that the program gave us plenty of practical sessions and research exposure, which helped me apply what I was learning in class.

On the other hand, some of the lab facilities could be improved. At times, equipment was limited and that slowed down practical work. Outside of academics, campus life was lively and I got to meet people with similar interests, which made the journey more enjoyable.

Overall, I would recommend this university to anyone who’s serious about building a career in science. It has its challenges, but with focus and effort, you can get a lot out of the experience.

OAU as is it funnily call is Nigeria’s most beautiful campus in terms of structures and environment. It is a training ground for all aspects of life not only in terms of academics but everyday life. It is a school where students walk freely from lecture complex to their various hostels any time of the day without fear of being attack. Students pass through school and school pass through them.

OAU is a school that pays close attention, not just to the academic wellbeing of students but overall which cuts across health to status. Here, the essence of education is not just portrayed in learning but also in culture, with magnificent structures, exciting events, mind building conferences and seminars, that opens one’s mind to creativity, leadership and a crave for excellence.

Obafemi Awolowo University is a great citadel of learning. Both students and alumni refer to the institution as “Great Ife”. The University is one of the federal universities and it is in the old city of Ile Ife. It is also fondly referred to as OAU. It was established in 1961.

The University has 12 faculties and nine institutes. This provides an excellent environment for young and old Nigerians to explore and fulfill their academic dreams. Obafemi Awolowo has the best architectural structures in Nigeria.

I would recommend Obafemi Awolowo University to prospective students and their parents.
