

Queen Mary University of London is a global leading university, based in London, England. Its history goes back to 1785 to the foundation of England’s first medical school at the Royal London Hospital. Today, Queen Mary is a Russel Group university that operates across 5 campuses in London and Europe (Paris, Piraeus, Malta) and Asia (China and Singapore). It is the first institution ever that’s been awarded the Engage Watermark Gold Award for excellence in public engagement. The university offers its students an international experience. The school has a unique approach to admitting students onto its programmes. It provides opportunities to individuals who have the talent and potential regardless of their background. 4000 members of staff and over 25000 students are part of Queen Mary. Among those are foreign students (9% are from the EU and 35% are from non-EU overseas countries) from 162 nationalities. Because of its campuses abroad, students can undertake semesters and internships abroad. About 4000 of Queen Mary’s students are based offshore, mainly in China. Queen Mary offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. It is the first Russel Group institution to offer Degree Apprenticeship programmes. Due to its international partnerships, graduates are ready for a global career upon graduation.
As a student, I felt largely neglected by the university while studying Film and TV at Queen Mary. Support and communication were limited, and concerns often felt ignored or slow to be addressed. The course was very theory-heavy, with little practical guidance or industry preparation. Overall, the lack of support made the experience disappointing and isolating rather than creatively rewarding.

I loved the faculty; their immense experience in their fields helped me gain essential knowledge and strong technical skills.
