This University is a great place to be quite honestly. However experiences differ from person to person. I for one did enjoy my stay mostly. There are great teachers, the strikes stopped and for my entire journey I haven’t experienced any as opposed to the reputation that precedes it. Makerere University is the best university in Uganda and is among the top 10 universities in the East African region. The university is the oldest in Uganda as it was established in 1922.
The 100years that the University has existed are highlighted with numerous developments. The University has 9 colleges and 1 School which teach different disciplines. The teaching at the University is student centered and the faculty members simply guide the students on this journey. The staff members work for the good of the students rather than against them.
The tuition fees are quite affordable and can be paid in installments.
The university has modern developments that are inclusive of all persons such as persons with disabilities.
Besides supporting students academic endeavors, the University supports a number of extracurricular activities such as sports.

In order to have a positive impact on communities, it is important to build education systems that are equality sensitive. We need to have courses that favour everyone and have an impact on society as a whole.
