I appreciated Moi University’s strong commitment to hands-on training, research exposure, and mentorship from dedicated lecturers who genuinely supported student growth. The diverse student community enriched my learning experience both culturally and intellectually. Although some administrative processes, like registration and access to resources, could be more efficient, these challenges built my patience and adaptability. Overall, I would highly recommend Moi University for its quality education, supportive environment, and opportunities for both personal and professional development.
View moreIt is a university that is highly affected by politics and tribalism. Initially, the university had a well functioning management that was ousted by tribal politicians. They then embezzled the funds and now the school is almost collapsing. There are regular strikes by the school’s staff because they haven’t been paid for months!
There’s is insecurity in the school, lectures are affected by the strikes which increase the number of years you take to complete a course. This of course is not favourable to many students as it causes a strain in their finances. The education in other schools like the school of arts is not quality because of few lecturers.
Likes? It is located at a place where life is generally cheap.
Would I recommend it? No.
I think highly of this university because I was able to study and get my degree after four years. I liked the lecturers and their way of teaching; however, I did not like the way the school delayed our results. I will most likely not recommend this university.
View moreI would highlight the dedication of the lecturers, the diversity of the student body, and the strong academic foundation that Moi University provides. The program encouraged critical thinking, teamwork, and adaptability. However, I believe there is still room to improve by integrating more modern digital tools, enhancing career guidance, and expanding alumni engagement opportunities. These steps would make the program even more impactful and prepare students more effectively for today’s job market.
View moreMoi University, located in Eldoret, Kenya, is one of the country’s largest public universities and is known for its diverse academic programs, especially in engineering, education, and business. The campus offers a vibrant student life with a wide range of cultural and extracurricular activities. Like many students, I appreciated the university’s strong academic foundation, affordable tuition compared to private institutions, and the opportunity to study alongside peers from across the region.
However, as with many large public universities, some students note challenges such as overcrowded classes and occasional administrative delays. Overall, Moi University provides a well-rounded academic experience with a balance of quality education, cultural exposure, and professional growth opportunities, making it a strong option for students seeking affordable higher education in Kenya.
