Moi University is a great school with exciting courses. However, in hindsight, I wish they had done more research when creating the curriculum of some courses. The materials they used were outdated and there was a general lack of understanding of how these courses would translate into actual jobs.
They need to partner with organizations to provide internships for their students as it is a part of the student’s overall grades. Most students failed to get quality internships and were unable to get valuable connections through networking which are important when applying for jobs.
For the generally mandated courses, there is a need to educate the students on the necessary skills that they need in their everyday lives such as financial literacy, personal development, etc.
Overall, we had some great lecturers who went above and beyond to ensure that the information and resources they were disseminating was relevant to the course.
