I like the program I’m currently enrolled in because it allows me to take courses that are related to my field of study and has a clear path of courses for me to pick from to complete my degree. Classwork at York is comparable to any other school in Ontario however some professors at York can be deemed inconsiderate and sometimes rude. The work environment is quite busy and productive. There are many areas where one can go to study and there are also areas for group study or even just for hanging out.
View moreThe school struggles to find teachers that always answer their students. My major courses have been great but the general education courses aren’t the best. They’re very disorganized but other than that my program is great!
View moreSince my program focuses on movement and how our bodies function, it is very appealing to me. At York University, you will find great professors and some who are not so great. As part of my program requirements, I have to take some sport classes and I have really enjoyed it. In addition, York University has many student organizations that I have enjoyed going to. Since I recently joined them, I have greatly enjoyed how they have increased my perspective and helped me to find out how to be successful in the future.
View moreMostly you have to depend on yourself to study, most of the professors which I encountered were not that good so it just added the burden on me. Student life is not that exciting right now, I guess it would be due to Covid 19, hardly any on campus events and I’ve never been to any event on campus. So university life so far is just study and study.
View moreOverall, the program was very rewarding. No doubt engineering is a tough program, however, they do provide a bunch of resources to help you through this. The professors are hit or miss but mostly pretty good. They have a lot of career fair opportunities and so there are many chances for you to find a job or internship
View moreI recently completed my first year in the 2 year Bachelor of Education program at York University. This competitive and comprehensive program is extremely thorough and arguably the best Bachelor of Education program offered by a university in Canada. The professors are extremely knowledgeable in their respective subject areas and provide great tips on the teaching profession. I feel confident that once I graduate next year, I have been equipped with the necessary tools to become a successful high school English teacher. This program inspired me to pursue the Masters of Education program, which I am applying to this upcoming Fall. I would recommend this program to anyone who has a dream of being a teacher.
View moreEngineering by itself is an extremely lengthy and hard programme to complete. Usually, many university students for a lot of their programs have completed their degrees in 4 years or less, however, engineering is an extremely lengthy process as I stated before. Overall my experience at York University in terms of the engineering program, I can say I had a fair experience overall. The courses that are required for completion of the degree require lots of time to study and prepare. The courses for the majority of the time are math-based and take a lot of time to practice and prepare yourselves for the exams or tests. With that being said the program itself is a very fulfilling experience as the content that you learn is applied everywhere in life as you see it. from computer engineering software programs to buildings and bridges this program lets you see the world in a different way. the best part of the program in my opinion would be all the fun labs that you can do with each respective course. the labs are super fun and also allow you to meet new people and friends within your program. This program is very time consuming however it isn’t overly packed. I was still able to go and relax with my friends if that be working out in the gym or even going out for the night to have dinner, this course is an extremely fulfilling one.
View moreOriginally I went to York University as a Music Major, but I switched to an English Major during the 2008 strike. However, I still took music programs on the side as electives. It was at York that I discovered Flamenco Guitar, and it quickly became a passion of mine! It led me to discover other Spanish music. The program there is great, and I highly recommend the guitar ensemble as well.
View moreI was not a fan of online learning especially when it came to tutorials and lab work. Lots of lost hands learning experience. I really enjoyed my program and the profs that taught them. I wish the program had more advanced equipment and facility like a cadaver lab for example. Lastly, I whish the university could make parking more affordable for their students and staff.
View moreMy first year of university was experienced during the backend of the pandemic and incorporated a blend of online and in-person for a few classes. Overall it was enjoyable and delivered well. Truly a solid Kinesiology programme.
