Their prgrammes are practical and in line with the needs and expectations of employers globally and they were the first university to implement a Business Seminar that is planned and executed from conception to reality solely by students.
I would recommend such programmes as Nursing and Engineering as they have, in my opinion, the best trained nurses and engineers in Jamaica. Our nurses are often recruited to work overseas several times per year. University of Technology (UTech) teaches students about the real world -as they give hands on experience . Their students tend to do better in the work place than hires from other universities.
Dislikes: They are backward and punitive, and their academic advising policies and procedures are not very user friendly. It is felt that main campus students get better treatment than those at the western campus.
