Good theoretical preparation but little practice
The University of Catania, UNICT, is a historical university, located in a lively and vibrant city in Sicily. My degree course in Communication Sciences and Media, has given me a sound theoretical preparation in communication and media studies, but has provided very few opportunites for me to apply these theories to practice. The courses I have taken, such as History of Cinema, Sociology of Mass Media, Models of Television Series, History of Music, Sociology of Cultural and Communication Processes, have enriched my knowledge of these subjects and increased my desire to pursue a career in media and content creating. Unfortunately, to due so, I have had to look outside the university to learn the skills I need.
