The university of Ghana is one of the top universities in Ghana situated in the heart of Accra which is the capital of Ghana.I experienced a very good learning and diverse social environment which has offered me great experiences coupled with great work and study programs that provide students with both virtual and in person lectures, recordings of lectures and other remote facilities to promote fully functioning remote Learning. The faculty is highly dedicated to ensuring the academic success of students while creating a lovely social environment through organizing of peer mentorship programs, lecturer student mentorship programs and good academic counseling coupled with student social events to foster great social relationships
View moreIt is by far the best in the country in terms of infrastructure and faculty members. It is the oldest and most prestigious university in Ghana. Tuition and accommodation fees are affordable.
There is room for improvement in terms of security.
View moreStudying Law on campus is so comforting and peaceful, students are well organised and the lecturers and professors are very professional. The above notwithstanding, the hustle of getting accommodation on campus is my greatest dislike. In my view, this hustle always occasions the imbalance in the students to hostels ratio. Student life is serene and perfect and will recommend it to any student planning of undertaking tertiary education in Ghana. The school participates in several competitions, seminars, researches, and many others at the international plane, as same is open to international students for its quality education.
View moreThe programme was well-structured, spaced out and superbly taught by seasoned experts, trained to be teachers not just ‘lecturers’.
Classes were prompt and rarely cancelled, with a switch to hybrid on-line and in-person teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, so swiftly, so not as to delay the completion and graduation of students.
The university in general provides the facilities and atmosphere which promote academic discourse, training and research, to encourage students of the importance of education.
I know that my degree and training are what have opened my doors to a diverse (and lucrative) career opportunity pool.
I believe the only issue is the population strain on the university, which seriously affects accommodation availability and standards.
With students coming from all the 16 regions of the country, growing numbers from countries across Africa, and exchange students from Europe and the Americas, the university has to make more structural and physical changes to accommodate that would only keep growing in the years ahead.
All in all, it is still the number 1 best university in Ghana and West Africa.
View moreI think the University of Ghana has a lot of student prospects whose potentials aren’t maximised most likely because of bad policies and implementation methods, lack of proper facilities especially with sciences. But i like the enthusiasm of both students and lecturers, even in these conditions they still strive for greatness in all their work.
