Student review [#77102] for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
at Ilmenau University of Technology

There is no coordination between exam office and the EI department. In pen and paper any master program should not take more than 2 years to complete. But reality is quite different in case of TU Ilmenau. You have to almost beg to get a project or master thesis. You can’t go directly to meet the professor without appointment. You get a reply from professor after 2 months that he/she does not have any topic or all places are already filled up. I never understood why did someone need 2 months to reply. So 6 months project becomes 1 year and its same for thesis as well. And the funniest thing is you get a German certificate in your convocation which is actually useless for an international student like me if I want to go back to my country or move somewhere else. They should at least provide an official translation in English like they provided during our offer letter. I would suggest, don’t come to this university if you have other options.
