After completing my bachelor’s degree in interior design at the Detmold School of Design, the transition to an online study format at FernUni Hagen was a big contrast. At Detmold, everything felt familiar, practical and creative with face-to-face learning. However, I’ve come to appreciate the new experience at FernUni Hagen in its own way.

The university’s website and course materials are impressively structured and easy to follow, which makes the self-paced nature of distance learning much more manageable. Although it’s primarily an online institution, FernUni Hagen offers occasional face-to-face events and live sessions via Zoom, which helps to bridge the virtual gap.

One of the features I appreciate most is the flexibility of the study options. You can choose between full-time and part-time schedules, which is ideal for balancing education with work, travel or family commitments. Overall, FernUni Hagen offers a solid, accessible learning experience for those who value flexibility and independence in their educational journey.
