Steep Learning Curve

The university is heavily presentation, team & analytical centric. It heavily teaches you how to speak in public, work with or under someone, and how to analyze the operations of a company through a quantitative lens.

All these have been very helpful and exciting, however much I wasn’t a fan of some of these experiences at the beginning, with a steep learning curve, you really get an understanding of what work life is like.

I came to this institution with no prior analytical and robust presenting skills, but over time, I have gained more confidence both while practicing these skills and in my daily life. There is a certain confidence to knowing that I have learned something I had no idea how to do effectively.

In addition to this, Course units like Corporate Finance and Financial Markets and Banking really open your eyes to what you didn’t know in business. While courses like Business Models or Business project scoop you out of your shell in order to present to everyone what you personally understand about global institutions, work cultures and more.
They really have an emphasis on conceptual memory of understanding than a Rote memory. Though, some course units still approach it with a rote memory based approach— which can be annoying sometimes because lot of people forget it afterwards compared to what they presented.

Overall, the institution heavily based on giving students a conceptual based way of understanding than a rote based way of understanding. It’s emphasis on presentation, slide formatting and some eye-opening lectures like Financial Markets and Baking or Corporate Finance to those with no prior undertaking to how things work, is a great foundation before entering work life.
