I took the condensed matter physics class, but the professor was not on top of the materials. She could not explain the concepts clearly, and when asked questions, she missed the key points. Luckily we got help from other senior students, otherwise, the whole class would have been wasted.
View moreThe research facilities for Electrical Engineers are really modern and advanced. I am pursuing my Masters in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Micro and Nano Electronics. I got here last year and I got the opportunity to directly hit the labs and start doing some experimental work based on the theory that I had learned during the lectures here. I would like to specially mention the clean room facilities called the Central Laboratory for Micro- and Nanotechnology. We can perform advanced research on seminconductor and nanoelectronic devices here. From the basic processes to fabrication of a transistor, everything is possible here with the help of the modern equipment availiable in the labs.
In addition to this, I would also like to point out to the fact that this university receives generally a lot of research grants from the Industry and therefore, there are always numerous small projects underway. You, as Bachelor or Master students, can easily join them and act in your capacity to get some first hand research experience and also get paid sometimes for the work you do! 🙂
I might have only mentioned the facilities for microelectronics, but there are also facilities for power engineering students, biomedical engineering students, communication engineering students and so on.
RWTH is a place to be if you want to get some first hand research experience and expand your skillset related to electrical engineering! 🙂
