VSB-TU Ostrava offers an experience that goes beyond textbooks and lectures. What sets this university apart is its sprawling green campus, which feels more like a small, self-sufficient town. As a mining engineering student, I was thrilled by the university’s Mining Museum, which provides hands-on experience with historical and modern equipment. The international community is vibrant, and the Buddy System helps you feel at home, no matter where you come from. A unique perk is the TechLab initiative, where students can access 3D printers and other high-tech tools for personal projects. The city of Ostrava, with its industrial charm, offers plenty of off-campus adventures, from the Stodolní Street nightlife to the serene Landek Park. VSB-TU Ostrava is a place where academics and camaraderie flourish side by side.

The study environment, teachers and facilities are great. Though the university is international-student friendly, some faculties are still not fully efficient when it comes to matters relating to international students.

Good university, teaches a wide range of things.
Many good teachers, but there are also so-so ones, but after a bad anonymous assessment from students they are corrected.
Now I’m talking specifically about the faculty of computer science. There are difficult subjects, there are easy subjects, as always. I can’t say anything bad yet, I haven’t seen any corruption, so I can recommend it, but the main thing is to study, because you will fail.
