I enrolled in this programme in 2018 because I was unsure about the direction I wanted my career to take. Now, five years after graduating, I realise how strongly it shaped the professional I am today.

I currently work in a managerial position at a high-level golf course in Spain, welcoming players from more than 50 nationalities and leading a culturally diverse team. The programme taught me to recognise and understand cultural differences, giving me the awareness and skills to manage this diversity effectively.

The value of the programme extended far beyond the classroom. The teachers were always approachable and willing to support students before, during and after their classes. I particularly remember one teacher taking the time to advise me on how to manage a team member during an assignment. That personal guidance became one of the most valuable experiences of my time as a student.

Even five years after graduating, I remain in contact with some of my teachers and regularly ask them for course materials. Only now, as I encounter real managerial challenges, do I fully appreciate the value of what we were taught. My only regret is that I did not concentrate more at the time, I might have been a few steps further ahead today.

After two years in a managerial role, I would gladly and enthusiastically take the programme again. I now have the professional experience to understand its lessons more deeply and apply them even more effectively in my daily work.

I highly recommend this programme to any student who aspires to build an international career.

I really enjoyed the First Year studying ICM at Artevelde. I was surprised with how much I have learned and grown with this program. It ensured me that I am on the right path, and that whatever I am doing, is what I wanted to all along. I found the projects one of the biggest advantages of studying ICM here at Artevelde. The projects are realistic, very professional and gives me a glimpse into the work of a communication specialist. The projects help me understand what does a student with this diploma do after graduating. Not only so, team projects are beneficial too! You get to work with diverse backgrounds, which expands your horizons and empathize with people. This also is very helpful in the future, where teamwork is a must in company environments.

My general opinion is that this may be a confusing bachelor. The intention of it should be more clear. This bachelor helps you get general knowledge about different business directions. It’s not like a Harvard course where they teach all the very specific details about how to ran a business. They teach you different directions and a little bit about each one. A lot of variety. This could be positive or negative. For me, it was what I was looking for. I disliked how hard the language courses are compared to the rest of the subjects, and also how unrelated they are. Why would the hardest subject be something quite unrelated to the bachelor? But overall I am happy with the subjects, the variety, and the freedom of this bachelor. It’s easy to combine it with work. And teachers are there if you need them.

I would definitely recommend Artevelde University of Applied Sciences and the International Business Management programme.

What I like most is the strong international environment and the practical approach to learning. We work a lot on business cases inspired by real companies and real situations, which allows students to safely practice problem-solving, decision-making, teamwork, and presenting before entering the actual business world.

I also really appreciate the atmosphere at Artevelde. The lecturers are approachable and feel more like coaches or mentors than distant superiors. Many of them also have real experience in the business field themselves, which makes the lessons more realistic and engaging. They genuinely try to guide students and help them grow both professionally and personally.

The programme helped me improve my communication skills, critical thinking, and ability to work with people from different cultures. There are also many extra opportunities to grow through excellence tracks, company visits, international projects, guest speakers, networking events, study trips, and exchange programmes.

Sometimes the workload can be quite intense, especially with group projects and deadlines happening at the same time, but overall I think it prepares students very well for an international career in business.

The university tries its best to make everyone feel welcome. Its goal is that everyone is able to graduate on their own timeline. Big support system for
people with special needs like disabilities or mental health issues!
Profs that are very kind and actually care about you and your work. Also they are always available if you have questions or need feedback.
Wide range of classes in the curriculum to cover a various fields in the design spectrum.

The school is really inclusive and gives many opportunities for students to grow on a personal level. The teachers are willing to help you and there is a calm atmosphere in class. It makes us able to speak openly about certain questions we may have or feedback we would like to give. The teachers are always there if you need them and the students are really kind.

The warm and inclusive atmosphere makes it easy to feel at home, no matter where you come from.

The teachers are very supportive in terms of answering assignment questions. I feel welcomed and heard as a student here. I feel like they try to go beyond, for example when I have questions in a specific course or assignment, they would answer me even in the evening or weekends.

My experience at Artevelde University College was overall very positive. The lecturers were knowledgeable and delivered the courses in line with the curriculum, making the material clear and relevant. I felt that the programme provided a solid foundation and helped me develop both academically and professionally.

I did not have many negative experiences during my time there. One area that could be improved is communication. There were occasions when I had to follow up multiple times before receiving a response to questions or concerns. A more timely response from lecturers or staff would make the overall student experience even better.

As it has been around a couple of years since I studied there, I cannot recall every detail, but I remember my overall experience being a positive one and would recommend the university to prospective students.
