I pursued an electronic engineering degree at UVIC a few years ago, and I really enjoyed my experience. I have multiple degrees from Universities across Canada and I found this one to be the best experience I had. The program itself is very comprehensive and thorough in terms of content, I always felt as though I was bettering my education and learning more by the day. The professors I had were in the upper end of quality compared to others I had at neighbouring schools. The location is both the best and worst part of UVIC in my opinion. It is a beautiful place to study, with plenty of room to study outdoors and the city of Victoria nearby, everything you need is right next door. However, BC is incredibly expensive in comparison to other parts of Western Canada for living. I wasn’t truly able to experience all Victoria has to offer as I was constantly worried about my financial situation. This is perhaps the most important thing to note if you want to come here and study: it gets expensive quick! So while tuition prices are indeed lower than in other places (barely), it is important to include the economic state of the province this school is in, and unfortunately, that means it’s very hard to maintain a living while studying. If you have the funds, this is a great place to obtain a degree not only because of the elements in the school itself (diverse, inclusive and helpful) but also because of the location! Would recommend!
