The best part about the University is their versatility in their accommodations. They have braille on their doors, ramps and elevators. The students are also really nice and easy to talk to, though some classes can be hard to find someone is always willing to point you at the right direction. Their accessibility services is the best thing about them! The service is absolutely wonderful!
They provide a wide arrange of services depending on what the student requires. Talk about putting the student first! The only downside is that some students require a more selective process of accommodation like having sildents clocks and ear plugs. I think that some people are scared to ask so making a list of what student can and can’t have other than the basic outline is a good idea. Plus it allows students to preform to the best of their abilities. Other than that the improvements that need to be made are little to none. They offer fantastic services but by far ensure that students can be students even if they require more than others!
View moreAt the heart of downtown it isn’t the safest University but there are lots to offer. They have a wide variety of activities throughout the school year. With that said, it can come off as intimidating to participate but there are tons of prizes and the people are quite welcoming and nice. It is a good way to begin engaging with your university peers. The downside to it all is I feel like some of the professors are not at their best. You either have really amazing profs thay everybody wants to have or you have really trashy profs that no one wants to get. Also because of it being at downtown it can get really scary sometimes. Especially when you’re there late and need to go home during dark. Luckily, they provide security guards to help you feel more uncomfortable if you’re walking to a place where you don’t feel safe.
View moreThe best thing about this University is your sense of belonging. It can be easy to disassociate yourself especially youre on your own, you never feel detached from your professor or peers. They are friendly, and they offer many outlets to expand your community. It gives you a chance to build confidence and hone social skills.
View moreAttending this university has not only taught me, but given me the space to exercise the freedom given to me for attending. I really feel as though a lot of people either don’t understand it or take it for granted.
View moreI am a Project Management student at PACE and PACE provided me with practical experience full of diversity. Students have good experience in their fields and sharing knowledge with each other is a best part.
View moreThe University of Winnipeg strives to create inclusivity in all aspects. Educators made sure to work alongside students while pushing their students to their best ability.
In terms of administration, the department seems to be overwhelmed and understaffed. I have had to spend hours in line, waiting to speak to an advisor which whom I had already booked an appointment.
View moreI am in my the 3rd year at the University of Winnipeg and I can say for a fact it is a close knit community of students who are friendly and always ready to help. The same goes for the faculty as well as they given me nothing but a pleasant experience. What I enjoy most about the school is the facilities. From the gym, to the recreational centre to the cafeteria, the school offers a wide range of great facilities right here at the students disposal.
View moreI am taking BSc 4 year applied Computer Science. The interesting part is that I’ve experienced the more of English classes in this semester and now I am thinking to change into English major. Without the requisite subject like English, I would’ve made a different path in my life.
