I studied Political Science at the University of Ottawa, it being the capital of Canada I was given the opportunity to meet many influential individuals in my field. On many occasions they were invited as a guest lecturer which allowed me to learn things from their perspective and ask questions!
View moreAwesome labs and classes. I feel like my program has done a great dob at preparing me for post-graduate programs and careers in the science field. Support was available at every step of my degree and I feel ready to take on the world.
View moreI think the faculty and the classes are really organized. The teachers know about their subject and are professional, and the extracurricular activities were also enjoyable. My classmates, while some of them were lackluster, were overall great.
View moreHonestly, it’s a lot of work but it’s so worth it for me. The professors give you a lot more autonomy and you get to learn about topics that you’re passionate about. The professors clearly show a love and passion for the course they’re teaching and because it’s not a big class you have a sense of belonging and personal connection with your classmates and professors there.
View moreI’ve really enjoyed my experience in the nursing program so far. The professors are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive especially in ANP, where I felt really guided and motivated to succeed. Always answered emails quickly and went above and beyond whenever I needed help.
One thing I absolutely love about the campus is the buildings themselves. There are so many study rooms available, which makes it easy to find a quiet spot when I need to focus. The classrooms for nursing are also super spacious and comfortable, which makes long lectures way more bearable.
That said, the parking is ridiculously expensive, around 17.50 a day(it’s exactly the minimum wage pay for students as if it’s on purpose). I get that we’re downtown, but it’s still a huge cost for students, and I wish there were more affordable options.
Campus culture is honestly one of my favorite things. People are so kind, I’ve dropped my stuff multiple times and strangers actually helped me pick everything up every time. It’s kind of funny, but it shows how kind the environment is.
Food-wise, we’re spoiled. Downtown is walking distance, which means tons of options. On campus, “No Forks Given” has the best wings in the city, and the food trucks are always a win. There are also tons of beautiful art displays all over campus, and I love how diverse and culture-rich they are you get to learn something new all the time.
I would definitely recommend this university especially for nursing students who want both strong academics and a supportive, vibrant campus life.
