Uni is literally so unpredictable, it could be hard for some people and easy for the rest. But it’s was tough for me cause I actually thought it would be like college but nah, it wasn’t. The programs are so overwhelming, a lot of course works and assessments to do and little time to complete plus the lectures are so nonchalant.
View moreYork is a amazing place to live, learn and explore your true self in finding what you love doing. As someone who studied biology it was very fun to meet new people, make friends, and also meet some outstanding profs in the mean time. By someone who was there for around 5 years or so, I can say that being there is not only going to expand your knowledgeable in what your studying, but open your mind to many things like new program, events, people and so so much more. If I had to rate everything in terms of people, school and those types of things I would all give them a 5 start in being overall amazing. As someone who was scared of university, York helped me get through that.
View moreYork University is an amazing school, with great programs and an even greater number of students. One thing I love about York is its great support system for when you don’t know what you are doing. This was very helpful as it was the first I’ve been to a university, the staff are very helpful and the professors are amazing and understand what they are teaching.
View moreOverall, York has a worse reputation than it deserves. The life science programs have really improved, and our facilities are top-notch. We have been recruiting incredible researchers, including Canada Research Chairs, and they have been some of the best Professors I’ve had. Overall, York is a pretty good school.
View moreI like the program I’m currently enrolled in because it allows me to take courses that are related to my field of study and has a clear path of courses for me to pick from to complete my degree. Classwork at York is comparable to any other school in Ontario however some professors at York can be deemed inconsiderate and sometimes rude. The work environment is quite busy and productive. There are many areas where one can go to study and there are also areas for group study or even just for hanging out.
View moreAs I am a first-year student I do not really have a good perspective on the program and such but the class so far has been quite informative and applicable due to teachers especially mine who communicate and seek the opinions and questions from students on any topic they can help with.
View moreYork University – Keele Campus provides the ideal, if not better post-secondary experience one could ask for. Despite the fear of strikes occurring, York University provides one with great campus life, as a person gets to pursue their careers through advancements in their education, all while meeting new friends and facing new opportunities. The biomedical science program at York University is a program I can personally say has been one of the most fulfilling things I have pursued. The labs for courses were educational and fun while the content learned was a lot but manageable. The professors in the biology department deserve credit for many students’ academic performances as they allow for the course content to be communicated thoroughly and understood by all the students. Although it is a more complicated degree to pursue due to the high course workload and any prerequisites required to graduate, I can personally say that completing this degree has been a journey and an accomplishment. Whilst pursuing this degree I was also able to experience the campus life, despite COVID interfering, and can say that the student community at York is the best of the best. From the recreational Co-Ed intramural sports to the multicultural performances, York has provided students with the perfect opportunities to relax and unwind in between classes. In my opinion, if you are thinking of majoring in biology or even need it to pursue a graduate study, York University is a great stepping stone in aiding in one’s journey to pursue excellence in their careers
