Simon Fraser University’s computing program excels in fostering diversity and providing students with a comprehensive education in various computing domains. The curriculum encourages exploration and skill development, preparing students for the dynamic tech industry. However, challenges include a perceived lack of strong student connections, variable lecturer quality, and the absence of exercise classes. To enhance the program, SFU should focus on building a stronger sense of community among students, addressing concerns about instructor quality through feedback mechanisms, and considering the introduction of exercise classes to promote holistic well-being. By addressing these aspects, SFU can further solidify its position as a leading institution in computing education.
