“AUBG is the place to be” is the slogan that the American University in Bulgaria has promoted on their social media platforms for years now. In a sense, they are not wrong. Especially in the Balkans, it is very rare to get exposed to this many different ethnicities and cultures all at once. One of the most refreshing facets of AUBG is its people and its events. The campus feels like a community. The professors, however, most of them at least, have a tendency of disrupting that harmonious image a bit. Teachers in AUBG are eccentric at times, very strict with deadlines but some of them are very empathetic and understanding. The program is US-based – meaning its courses are adaptive of liberal arts school in the States. That can be quite confusing at first, especially with the general education courses. Overall, I have to say that AUBG has shaped me to become the person that I am today. And for that, I am glad.
View moreThe professors are mostly foreign and are well-respected and very professional. They introduce innovative learning methods, and being that AUBG is a smaller university, it’s easy to establish rapport with professors, as most of them will know students individually and will check up on them personally. The school uses Canvas which makes the learning experience more guided as everything is online. The program that I’m currently however (Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Politics
View moreAUBG is a special place. The community makes this institution great. The diversity and being exposed to so many nationalities helps us as students form and shape our perspectives of the world. AUBG is a great place to grow and to connect with a lot of people and build lifelong relationships. As a POS major senior, I believe this program has taught me a lot and prepared me for the future and for the political arena. The professors are all highly educated and extremely helpful.
View moreIt is my second semester at this university and I am more than impressed. The professors are very helpful and friendly, the courses are interesting and informative… I get support with everything I need and it is just so reassuring that I am in a safe place. The environment helps me improve, grow and widen my horizon.
View moreAUBG has the best sense of community that I’ve ever experienced! The clubs are fun and the members are hardworking; they are what make AUBG what it is. There is always something to do here, and always something to learn.
View moreI thought there were no university options in Bulgaria that would fit me so like many students I decided to go to study abroad. And then I found out about AUBG. After going to their Open House day I realized that this indeed is an American University in my country. Before I started my expectations were set really high and I was a bit anxious if everything would turn out good. In reality, it was way better than I ever expected. The people, the campus, the atmosphere, the professors, the courses, the town- everything contributed to AUBG being the best choice I could make. Within the first week, I made true friends with who I can share everything. The liberal arts system allowed me to try out different subjects so I can explore the majors in the best way possible. It is only the second semester of my first year and yet I feel as if I have been here my whole life. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND :))
