Economics degrees are usually a three years commitment and sometimes are offered as part of a joint degree. This means that Economics can be studied along with another subject such as engineering, management, law, computer science and others.
This degree can be found either as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). The BSc focuses more on economical theory and statistical techniques, while BA is combined with social sciences and qualitative modules.
The University does not employ selection at entry which allows for anyone having a High School Diploma or equivalent to apply and enter first year. This forces the University to put in place very difficult exam sessions which are designed to remove many of the students not qualified to complete the course at the end of each year. The courses are designed so that anyone with the right determination and work method could succeed regardless of their high school performances, but are unforgiving towards students who do not put in the effort to do well during their exams.
