Mixed experience. There have limited opportunities but a co-operative environment for doing something better. Some teachers have ego issues but instead of some lackings there’s some student friendly Professors also.
Need to improve lab facilities and researche facilities.
Best campus life experience ever, i will definitely cherish my campus life.
Yeah moderately recommended for mid level students.
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is a premier center of excellence, blending top-tier technical education with a breathtaking, hilly landscape. The university is home to world-class professors whose mentorship is complemented by a rigorous curriculum, ensuring students are industry-ready. The infrastructure is robust, featuring modern residential halls that foster a tight-knit community and a central library that serves as a sanctuary for research and study.
The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department is a true highlight of the institution. It boasts state-of-the-art computer labs and high-end workstations designed for complex software development and AI research. The department is vibrant with a competitive tech culture, frequently organizing high-profile events like national programming contests and hackathons. These platforms, alongside the active CUET Computer Club, allow students to showcase their skills in problem-solving and innovation on a national stage.
While its secluded location in Raozan offers a peaceful, distraction-free environment ideal for deep academic focus, it does require a bit of travel to reach the city center. However, the university’s dedicated transport system effectively bridges this gap, making the serene “green campus” experience well worth the distance.
CUET is a well-known engineering university in Bangladesh and overall it has a good reputation. The campus environment is good.. really helps students focus on their studies. The academic pressure is high, but that actually pushes students to improve themselves. Some teachers are really good and friendly. They explain topics clearly, help students understand difficult concepts, and support us in projects and research work. When you get a good teacher here, you can learn a lot.
However, not everything is perfect. Some sir are not very cooperative and their teaching style is not effective. Sometimes classes feel boring because they just read from slides. Lab facilities in some departments are not good enough. A few labs have old equipment, and practical learning does not always match the theory properly. I think the university should improve these areas.
Overall, CUET is a good place for engineering students, especially if you are self-motivated and hardworking. It has both good and bad sides, but the experience helps you grow. I would recommend it, but with realistic expectations.

Academic Culture and Student Life
Academic life at CUET is intense and demanding, fostering a culture of resilience and technical proficiency. The competitive environment pushes students to excel in national and international engineering competitions. Beyond the classroom, the university hosts various technical fests and cultural programs, ensuring that graduates are well-rounded individuals ready for the global industrial landscape
The Civil Engineering program provided a solid technical foundation supported by practical learning opportunities. Courses combined theory with real-world applications, especially in structural analysis, environmental engineering, and design projects. I gained hands-on experience through software tools such as AutoCAD, ETABS, ArcGIS, and laboratory work, which strengthened my analytical and problem-solving skills.
The faculty members were knowledgeable and supportive, particularly in guiding research and design work. Campus organizations and technical activities further enhanced teamwork and leadership skills.
Overall, I would recommend my university (CUET) to students who want a technically strong engineering education with research and practical experience.
