The University included different subjects which suitable for different person. Professors are nice and professional. When You have any questions, they are always ready to help and discuss with you. You can enjoy the study environment, the facilities in campus is in very good condition.
Versatile degree with many potential teaching pathways and career options. However a degree focused a lot on social studies rather than culture and media. There should be more of a focus on this given the degree title, making it seem a bit misleading.
Anyone attending UCL has objectively worked immensely hard to get here as it demands academic excellence. I began my journey at UCL with almost an air of complacency - that I had already made it. Studying here has dismantled this thought and propelled me to think deeper and more critically than I ever anticipated. My understanding of my degree (Linguistics) was, at first, hyper-focused to a purely sociolinguistic point of view from my English Language A-Level. However, the professors, who are experts in their fields, reframe your thinking to be that of an analytical linguist who questions and critiques every belief you and others have in this field. Oftentimes when I state my degree I get asked the question: “what languages do you speak then?”. One takeaway I hope people discover is that a linguistics degree is so much more than language; it stands at the intersection of computer science, psychology, neuroscience, sociology, and philosophy. The education you receive at UCL stands out to me as holistic, preparing you for a modern, technologically advanced and constantly changing job market.
During my first year at the university of Westminster I was able to come to three conclusions. The first one is that the university is a great place to connect to people from all around the world, is it also a great place to find friends and teachers that help you find yourself. Second conclusion is that it is not always so fun and beautiful, it is a hard path, where you learn how to be responsible, and that every action that you take for your future has a consequence. It is also a great place to learn from your mistakes and become a better person, you get in contact with different people that teach you many things. Third conclusion is that it is a very cozy place, I love my university because it has a nice and cozy vibe, it is a modern building but inside is very nice. I love how the institution tries to make its students feel comfortable inside.
