Although I earned my bachelor degree at the University of York in UK, it was quite theoretical. I really started to bridge the learning gap between theory and practice only when I started to pursue my master degree in Business Analytics and Data Science at EU Business School in Barcelona. What stands out most in my current program is the university’s strong emphasis on practical experience. Our professors are not only scholars but also are successful business managers and data experts, as they are either the owners of successful organizations or individuals who took on top management roles in large corporations. Their teachings are more than just the syllabus in, they also provide personal experience in the area of niche markets, provide best practices in an industry, and always provoke our thinking with regard to the existing trends in higher education, business strategy, and innovation.
The overall experience was ok. Yet I dont feel that it was worth 10k€ a year for what I received. Starting from repetitive classes in each year but with a different name until not having bathrooms for almost 6 months. The quality of the majority of classes was 2/5. The content of the classes was not deep enough to teach you about tools, appliances, ways of solving, what should be taken into consideration. On my 2 last years. I took the exact same class of public relations but named differently. Not even the professor knew what to say any more. I didn’t saw not event one tool that is used in public relations. We analyzed just one case of public relations in the whole semester. And it was a mention not event a full analysis. I do not recommend GBSB. The internships they say the help you with on their webpage its a lie. They do not help you in any way to connect you with no company. They are not event informed in how to help you with the visa.
I studied tourism at UAB for one semester in 2022. I was supposed to stay for a full year, but my experience wasn't good and I left after the first semester. First of all, the housing area (Villa universitária) has mold. I was sick constantly during my exhange and went through multiple respiratory infections. I also had almost daily headaches and a very painful and strong cough. All of this eased after a couple weeks once I returned to my home country. Other exhange students told me about having the same issues and some noticed mold in their apartment walls. The housing area at times is very unsave and not controlled properly. The tourism faculty is located in the same building with the housing area reception. Therefore, it was very excluded from the rest of the campus. That's why, I didn't really get to use any of the services offered at the campus or get a real university experience. UAB also has a medical centre for "all students" according to their website, yet this doesn't include tourism students. I was turned away from the centre despite being extremely sick once they heard I study tourism at the school. The classes focused more on remembering as much information as you can to pass the exam, rather than focusing on understanding, critical thinking etc. The teachers were very often late to classes, they felt very unmotivated and I received very little feedback. In short, I do not recommend UAB. My experience was a loss of money and time.
Nothing to show
Classes are good, I would try to make them more interactive and with more practices in class. Professors normally are good, in the english course I believe the english of the teachers could be better specially if the course is taught in that language. I also believe professors could interact more with their students and try to get in contact with students they see may be struggling. Otherwise the campus, although a bit small is fine, really nice, the library could be a little bigger.
A perfect synergy between theoretical knowledge, practical application, and high-quality networking. After completing the Master in Sport Management at Johan Cruyff Institute, I took a major step forward in my career in the sports industry. What truly sets this institution apart is the closeness and support of the professors and staff, as well as the enriching experiences shared with fellow students. Without a doubt, it has been one of the most transformative decisions of my life.
The classes are so intresting I love how they they teach you about psychology and business strategy, I really like how the teachers are real professionals in terms of marketing , buisness... overall I really enjoy it.
