I completed the BSHS (Bachelor of Science in Health Science) program at University of the People, and overall, it was a positive experience—especially given the tuition-free model. The program is fully online and very flexible, which made it easier for me to balance coursework with work and personal responsibilities.
What stood out most to me were the structured weekly assignments and the engagement with peers from many different countries. The courses covered useful topics in public health, biology, and healthcare systems. Some instructors were very responsive and supportive, while others were less active, which is something to be aware of.
Because UoPeople relies heavily on peer-based learning, you need to be disciplined and comfortable working independently. If you’re looking for a traditional university experience or a lot of interaction with professors, this may not be the best fit. But if you want an affordable, accredited option that allows you to work at your own pace, I would recommend it.
