My opinion about the University of the People is very positive. I truly appreciate the opportunity it provides for students around the world to access higher education regardless of financial or geographic barriers. One of the things I like most is the flexibility of the online platform, which allows me to study at my own pace while balancing work and personal life. The peer learning model also creates a supportive international community, and the instructors are very dedicated.
However, I found that the platform can sometimes be confusing for new students, especially when trying to locate specific tools like Kaltura or understanding the assignment structure in the first weeks. Also, it would be helpful if all modules were unlocked from the beginning, allowing motivated students to move faster through the course. I’ve also had some issues understanding how the platform works fully.
Despite these minor issues, I would definitely recommend the University of the People to anyone looking for a flexible, affordable, and accredited education. However, I do have some doubts about whether the degree will be considered equivalent to a traditional university degree in Portugal. Still, it has been a valuable step in my academic and personal growth.
