My time at UoPeople has been really great and has changed my view of online education. I’m a working parent who needed a school that fits my schedule, and this university was perfect for that. I can study anytime because the classes are online and not live. This lets me work around my job and take care of my family, which I wouldn’t be able to do at regular colleges.
I was surprised by how hard the classes are, but in a good way. Even though it’s free, the work is tough and covers everything it should. My teachers know their stuff and give good feedback, but sometimes they take a while to respond. At first, I was scared about grading other students’ work, but it taught me how to give and get helpful comments while learning from students all over the world.
I’ve worked with students from more than 50 countries in my classes, and this has really opened my mind. The online discussion forums are full of different ideas and stories that make every assignment better.
The hardest parts are staying focused on my own and some computer problems with the website. You really need to be good at managing your time and pushing yourself to do well here.
The help services have gotten much better since I started. Academic advisors answer quickly, and there’s lots of help for writing and career advice. Getting a real degree without going into debt is changing everything for my family’s money situation.
Overall, UoPeople has been better than I expected. It’s not right for everyone, but if you can stay focused, push yourself, and need a flexible schedule, it’s an amazing chance to get a good college education.
