I’m about halfway through the Computer Science program at University of the People, and the experience has been surprisingly solid. Tuition is basically just the assessment fees, so I can keep my budget intact while working toward a real degree. Everything’s online and mostly asynchronous, which lets me tackle assignments whenever I have the time in a busy working schedule while working full-time.
The peer-review setup seemed odd at first, but reading classmates’ work and giving feedback actually sharpens your own thinking. Professors step in if discussions drift, though you won’t get lightning-fast replies. The flip side is you need to be disciplined. Nobody’s reminding you about deadlines and Wednesday (deadline day) always comes too fast. Still, if you’re self-motivated and want an accredited degree without a mountain of debt, UoPeople is an amazing choice. I’m glad I have the opportunity to study here.
