I’m currently studying at the University of the People, and my experience has been mostly positive. The biggest advantage is the flexibility, as someone working full-time, I appreciate being able to study on my own schedule. The courses are well-organized, and the peer-to-peer learning model pushes you to stay engaged and take responsibility for your own progress.
The university is tuition-free, but there are small fees per course, which still makes it incredibly affordable compared to traditional universities. One thing to note is that since everything is online and asynchronous, it requires a high level of self-discipline. Also, support from instructors and staff is really motivating, and the global student community is really active and helpful.
Overall, if you’re self-motivated, need a flexible schedule, and are looking for an accredited and low-cost education, UoPeople is definitely worth considering.
