What I like:
I appreciate that UoPeople offers accessible and affordable education to students around the world, especially those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend university. The online format is flexible and allows me to study while managing personal responsibilities. I also like the diversity of students and instructors, which provides a rich learning environment. The emphasis on peer-to-peer learning and critical thinking has helped me grow academically and personally.
What I dislike:
One challenge is the limited interaction with instructors compared to traditional universities, which sometimes makes it harder to get immediate feedback or mentorship. The learning platform can also be a bit basic, and access to resources may not be as extensive as in other institutions. Additionally, since it is tuition-free (except for assessment fees), funding support can still be a barrier for students in difficult financial situations.
My recommendation:
I would recommend UoPeople to anyone who is self-motivated, disciplined, and looking for a flexible, affordable way to pursue higher education. However, I would advise new students to be prepared for independent learning and to actively participate in forums to make the most out of the experience. I also suggest that UoPeople continue expanding student support services and seek more scholarship opportunities to assist those facing financial hardships
