My experience at University of the People was positive and rewarding. What stood out most to me was the flexibility of the online programme and the opportunity to learn alongside students from different countries and backgrounds. The peer-to-peer learning model encouraged me to communicate, collaborate, and take greater responsibility for my own learning.
I also appreciated the structured courses, supportive learning community, and the opportunity to develop both technical and independent-learning skills. Since the programme is fully online, campus life is naturally different from that of a traditional university, but the international student community helped create a sense of connection.
One area that could be improved is administrative support, particularly the speed of responses to student concerns. I would also like to see more hands-on projects, regularly updated course materials, stronger industry connections, and expanded career-development opportunities.
Overall, University of the People provided me with a valuable and accessible pathway to earn my Computer Science degree. I would recommend it to students who are self-motivated, disciplined, and looking for a flexible online learning experience.
