I spent 3 years at the University of Illinois (2017-2020) and I had an incredible experience. This is a large university with around 50,000 students both local and international. Due to the high population of international students, it is a very inclusive university. There are classes for just about anything, though certainly the university specializes in business and engineering. Personally, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. My classes were quite small, usually around 40 people per class. Personally, I loved that I could have my smaller classes, but they also have huge lecture halls for those who love bigger class sizes! It all depends upon what you are studying. Another pro to this university is the staff. The people that I met were dedicated to helping me really find out what I was meant to do and helping me reach that goal! It is also known that this is a high performing university- you will be challenged!
Aside from academics, the university is extremely spacious. It offers so many areas for recreation, studying, and just having fun with your peers. There are many social and sports clubs to join, as well as sorority’s and fraternity’s. All in all, there’s a little something for everyone at the University of Illinois!
