Communication is a bridge between theory and hands-on work. Although it’s more theory… If you’re looking for something in media, design, or marketing I suggest you pass on Comms. It’s a jack of all trades but a master of nothing type of degree or program at least. The companies are looking for a niche, experienced workers, so you’re better off doing PR, graphic design, or videography.
Learning a lot of theory and book knowledge is good if you want to go the academic route, but even within academia it’s super competitive and my college at least didn’t have as much opportunity or resources as other fields of study like the sciences etc.
The degree helped a little bit, but most of the professional experience that has opened doors for me was self-learned online with free resources.
