I’m currently a senior majoring in Anthropology and have been attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa for the past few years. My experience has been a mix of rewarding academic growth and some challenges that future students should
The anthropology program has been a highlight, many of the professors are incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about their fields, and genuinely care about student success. Courses in biological and cultural anthropology pushed me to think critically and encouraged deep engagement with real world issues. I appreciated the mix of theoretical and applied work, especially in upper division classes.

Campus Life:
Campus life is what you make of it. As a non-traditional student balancing work and school, I didn’t engage in clubs or events much, but I always felt welcome. For students who are looking for vibrant campus culture, that might depend on your major and how involved you are.

Professors:
Some professors genuinely changed the way I think patient, accessible, and invested in students. A few others were rushed and disconnected not providing much help or insight.

The University of Hawaii at Manoa offers a solid education with great emphasis in the Humanities and culutral ecology. I especially recommend the anthropology department to students looking for a meaningful and rigorous academic experience with room for personal exploration.

University of Hawaii at Manoa in my honest opinion is an investment worth making with a highly accredited university your chances of landing a job after graduation is promising. The only downside to this university is the tuition. This university is pricey and if your desire is to live on campus know it’s simple life not as luxury as you may think. Overall your education is worth it. The professors care and the education is worth it.
