My experience at UConn has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s a large, beautiful research university with an abundance of resources dedicated to supporting its incredibly diverse student body. Whether you’re a first-generation student, from a low-income background, an international student, or a student with disabilities, UConn offers a wide range of programs and services to help you succeed both academically and personally.
I personally benefited from several of these resources, including the Student Support Services (SSS) program and the Center for Career Development. These programs played a key role in helping me navigate my academic journey and prepare for life after graduation.
Beyond academics, UConn offers a vibrant and active campus life. From its strong athletic culture and spirited sports community to the wide variety of student clubs and organizations, there’s something for everyone to get involved in.
The only drawback I encountered was the behavior of some students, which at times didn’t reflect the inclusive and respectful environment the university strives to promote. However, this does not overshadow the incredible value and opportunities that UConn provides.
Overall, I would highly recommend UConn to prospective students. It’s an affordable, resource-rich institution that truly invests in its students’ success.
View moreUConn has many student opportunities, from undergrads to Ph. D.s, allowing everyone to make the most of the college experience. From research to job opportunities, I had the chance to explore most by keeping myself active throughout my four years there. I was able to become a tutor specialist and help others in my major, and I became a manager for projects for first-generation students and/or low-income students. I impacted my community by supporting students looking to share their heritage with student-run organizations. If there is one thing I can highlight from UConn, it is opportunities.
