I chose University of the People because I wanted to continue my education without spending thousands of dollars, especially while balancing work and family responsibilities. I took entrepreneurship courses, and I appreciated having the opportunity to study online.

One thing I wish I had considered more carefully was my long-term educational goal. Looking back, I probably should have pursued the full bachelor’s degree instead of taking individual courses.

Overall, I think UoPeople is a good option for people who want an affordable education while managing other responsibilities. My advice would be to understand the programs, fees, and degree options before enrolling so you can make the most of the opportunity.

My experience at University of the People was truly life-changing. As a student from Mandera, Kenya, a marginalized region, I never thought I could access an accredited U.S. degree. UoPeople made it possible. I graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration in 2024. What I liked most was the flexibility, affordability, and the diverse global peer learning community. What I would love to see improved is more live interactive sessions and more career/internship support for African graduates. I started my journey at the University of the People in September 2021 and completed my undergraduate degree in 2026. Looking back, it was a long journey with many challenges, but it was also one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.

What stood out to me most was the flexibility of the online programme. Being able to study while working and managing other responsibilities made higher education possible for me. The courses helped me develop practical knowledge as well as skills in communication, research, critical thinking, teamwork, and time management.

I also enjoyed being part of an international learning community and interacting with students from different backgrounds. My experience as a UoPeople Ambassador gave me another opportunity to connect with students and contribute to the community.

There were certainly areas that could be improved, particularly communication, student support, and some administrative processes. However, overall, UoPeople gave me the opportunity to achieve something I worked toward for years. I am grateful for the journey and proud to be a graduate.
