Overall James Madison University has a lot of positives in the environment and the scenery is overall good. As many people know how our university is known as the number one school to guarantee students a job after graduating from there. Most of the professors on campus are there to not only teach you but to help you and guide you through the class even if it is a for a credit or 400 level course. Student life it’s one of the biggest things that jmu itself focuses on and is home to over hundreds of different organizations clubs and more. And as while I am a minority at this school there are different organizations that I could join to connect with other black students that go to this school.
View moreI am currently a student at James Madison University and I am a Freshman Psychology student. I am not able to speak on it much, but my experiences in my program have been pleasant so far. For example, my university has done an amazing job at informing you of your resources and there are often reminders around campus. I know exactly where to go when I am in need of help. I have gone to a career coach when I did not know how to apply my degree to the real world, I have gone to a psychology department peer advisor when there is something that I need help with. My classes make me feel adequately prepared to pursue a career in the mental health field already, even though I am nowhere near finished yet. Overall, I think all programs at JMU are helpful and fruitful, but since I am biased, I will say that I think the psychology program is beneficial.
