FAMU is a great institution, but it has some clear issues. The first being that the student body is subjected to poor organization from administrators and lack of communication. I could not get in contact with my academic advisor for 3 WEEKS due to her being “out of office.” Aside from this, the financial aid office regularly closes on a weekly basis and does not reach out to students with any updates. To top it all off, the housing department does not care. My residence hall had issues with mice for 3 WHOLE MONTHS. This is unacceptable, and students pay too much for this unorganized garbage. Do Better!!!
View moreAs a transfer student, I have been afforded many opportunities on campus. While every university has good things and bad things, the good outweighs the bad at FAMU. The staff and faculty genuinely care about the students, and want to see you succeed. I’m very happy that I transferred to FAMU.
View moreThis university feels like a community. I throughly enjoy how there is a lot to do on campus, especially within my major. The campus always makes sure there is something for the students to do, everyday something positive is happening on campus. I can say that our financial aid sucks and it’s so aggravating, but I feel like every university has its issues on the admin side. Other than that, I really do love the experience I’m having at my HBCU. I have a community of people who are like me and enjoy the things I do. Everyone is so sweet and kind and you will smile everyday you’re on campus. It’s a good experience!
View moreOne thing about FAMU is that with the amount of resources, the effort that they put into the students is outstanding to make sure that the students can get to where they need to be in their career, along with their families and everything so that they can comfortably live their lives and know that hard work must be involved!
View moreI love FAMU. The culture here is great, the environment is positive, there’s something here for every student to get involved in, and there are plenty of opportunities for personal growth. This is everything I need and want in a university and I am grateful I attended.
