Throughout my time at Loyola, I found the professors to be very knowledgeable and accommodating. I was challenged academically, which I am extremely grateful for. However, Loyola’s advising department is rather disastrous. It seems to be a common phenomenon that students feel they lack the necessary guidance from the advising department. The school is expensive for most students, and many feel that the advising department fails to provide adequate advice and guidance to ensure each student is on track to graduate on time. My advisors were extremely hard to contact and schedule appointments with, and through talking with other students, they felt similarly with their advisors as well.
