A lot of effort is clearly put in in many aspects of the university, such as the library and student services. This is especially true for the dyslexia centre there. There is also an excellent gym, with shops all very near by. Societies are generally good and easy to set up, although of course depend on the students themselves, so vary in quality, but many are excellent.
Sadly it has been marred in recent years by finance difficulties leading to staff job insecurity. It has also become progressively more infested with feminism and delusional “social justice”, particularly the student union, with the lgbtqxyz society has an unreasonable amount of power and leverage.
Feminist staff also feel able to discriminate more openly against anyone who does not bow to the ideology, or their ideology is aimed against (scapegoat group/s) I have personal direct overt experience of this. Fortunately, it was recorded and the head of the school took the complaint made was not dismissed and at least action was taken after.
Overall not the best place but not the worst either.
View moreI knew it would be Bangor from day one when I was picking universities. The support is amazing, and the fact that all sports clubs and societies are free means that you get to try out everything with no fear! Everyone is so kind and welcoming here, and it definitely feels like a massive family.
View moreThis university is good for me because all sporting teams and clubs are free to join, they have good library facilities and supportive teachers in my field of subject. The location for this university is my favourite.
View moreGreat location with easy access. Lots of support to be accessed if needed by lecturers. Lots of resources and great facilities in all campuses. I really enjoyed the course I did and would definitely go back if I was to study further.
View moreWhen I first found out about the very large number of students who make part of Bangor University I feared I’d be treated as part of a big community rather than getting individualized support and attention. But I have experienced the complete opposite: personalized and individualized support in a timely manner, both from admin and professors. Class size are smaller than I expected and you really get to know your peers! The campus is beautiful and everything is within walking distance, so no need to spend money on public transportation. There are several places to eat and drink throughout campus and most of them are very affordable and accommodate to students’ needs. Living in the halls has also been a great experience, and even if you happen to experience some issues, maintenance is very quick at getting things fixed. It is also quiet hard to not make friends here at Bangor uni, this is because all students get a free campus life membership and are able to assist a variety of weekly events (most of them free) and join any club/society desired. You can even easily start your own society if it doesn’t already exist! Needless to say, Bangor uni is a great place to study and an even better place to make friends from all over the world and call home.
