University of the West of England Bristol - UWE (reviews)

I’m currently entering my third year of the BSc Architecture (RIBA-accredited) at UWE Bristol. What stands out most is the balance between creative design and technical skills, we work on real projects, use industry software like Revit and AutoCAD, and are constantly encouraged to think about sustainability and social impact.

The facilities are great and spacious. Lecturers are approachable and genuinely invested in your progress. The course also offers good support for students, including portfolio development and career guidance.

One thing I’d highlight is the emphasis on real-world applications: we design buildings with an eye to how they affect communities and the environment. We also usually use real-life situations and sites to develop our project ideas. It’s practical, challenging, and rewarding.

I’d definitely recommend UWE if you’re looking for a hands-on, future-focused architecture education.

If you’re considering UWE, take my advice and go for it! The university itself upholds high educational standards and caters to diverse educational needs and interests.

You will also get to live in Bristol, which, in my opinion, is the best city in the UK.

The university was lovely and very supportive. The staff I found within the mathematics department were very friendly and approachable. They would offer any out of hours help if needed and were very attentive to any personal aspects.

For example, I had to return home for an unfortunate family issue and my professor was very empathetic and provided extra time for my deadlines at the time.

The facilities offered were good and mathematics students were offered a degree specific room only, this was to provide support and share ideas/learnings with those on the same course as you.

Campus life was great, they offered many events around and contained a variety of clubs you can join. As a multi-cultural student, I was able to join up the Vietnamese society to meet other Vietnamese students and build a connection there.
