Attending Bristol UWE is exactly how you would expect it to be, the youthful crowd and the high energy throughout the campus really made you feel like you were part of something. Bristol is known for its cultural diversity and studying my course – “Media Culture and Practice” I got a real understanding of what the city had to offer and the steps that had been put in place for it to get there.
My course was a very open one there was never a wrong or a right answer and it was all up to you to create an opinion on the given subject matter. Of course, all work in this field is subjective but so this helps a lot if you’re like me and have many creative ideas and thoughts.
There was a good balance between practical and theory work, both of which tied in nicely with one another creating an enjoyable experience and always keeping me on my toes when it came to the projects.
Sadly I am only able to give 4 stars as there was the promise of a placement year in our final year, however, this was cancelled as the university simply did not have the funding to support it, this was not a deal-breaker but did disrupt a lot of my learning time.
All in all, it was a great experience despite my final point and I would recommend this course to anyone who has an interest in media psychology.
