I overall enjoyed my experience at Roey, but a few years ago they scrapped so many of their humanities degrees which resulted in them no longer offering the degree I studied. My degree is a BA in Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies / Film Studies. Whenever I remember that they got rid of my degree I feel both infuriated and like I’m going to cry. I was incredibly fond of this uni, but now I don’t know how I feel.
So many of my lecturers (PA Skantz, Glenn Odom, Stacey Abbott, and Leslie Hill to name a few) were amazing and being in their classes was possibly some of the best experience of being at Roey. But now most, if not all, of them are no longer there.
The parts I didn’t like about studying at Roehampton were mostly about the general party vibe of campus life (especially during first year). I am not a party person and living on campus my first year was difficult. However, the campus is gorgeous, the distance from central London is decent and I met the best people and made true friendships while studying there. I’m always going to be upset at the choices the school made regarding several degrees, including mine. I’m sad that new prospective student won’t get the same chance to experience the arts at Roey the way I got to.

Clinical placements in NHS trusts provide valuable hands-on experience, but the support from mentors can be inconsistent, making the transition from classroom learning to real-world practice challenging.

Roehampton’s emphasis on work placements allows students to gain hands-on experience in hospitals, NGOs, or the food industry, making the transition from theory to practice smoother.
