The university is a unique campus based arrangement. The course was varied offering an array of different subject sfrom marketing to statistics. It was a sandwich degree so I spent a year in work gaining valuable experience. This contact was useful as I got further paid work withthem when I finished university. It has a lot of sporty students and there is not a drinking culture like at other universities which I like. I liked the feel of the campus and having everything easily to hand. The town centre offers some shops and local cinema.
View moreThe campus is huge and the lecturers are friendly and caring. I tried the stone lithography class but I’m not sure if it’s still available. There’s a small town around the campus which I visit frequently. The bus ride is pretty steep though.
View moreI studied at Loughborough University for my Master’s, and overall, it was a very positive experience. The university has a great reputation, and the teaching quality and support from professors really stood out. The campus is vibrant, well equipped, and offers plenty of opportunities to get involved in different activities.
What I appreciated most was the diverse and welcoming community, which made it easy to collaborate and learn from people with different perspectives. On the downside, the workload could feel intense at times, but it ultimately helped me build strong time management skills.
I’d definitely recommend Loughborough University to anyone looking for a well-rounded academic and personal experience.
View moreHonestly, Loughborough is a great place to be, with a nice large beautiful campus, you will probably get lost in and will continue to lose your self in because it is a beautiful place to be. In terms of classes, professors, I don’t believe loughborough is different to any of the other top 20 universities, there will be lectures you love, and ones you simply dot want to go to, but at the end of the day it will up to you to make that independent choice to achieve and succeed, loughborough is there to support you all the way through educational and career services they have at hand. Finally, the thing I love about loughborough the most are the people and friends I’ve met and made along the way. Many people will complain and say Loughborugh is boring, the town is boring, the night-life is boring, but quite frankly I think those people themselves are boring. Uni is what you make, Loughborough provides the perfect canvas for you to craft your own unique experience.
View moreLoughborough University has been a transformative experience for me, offering a great balance between academics, extracurricular activities, and personal growth. Following are some key aspects of my experience.
The academic structure is well-organized, with a strong focus on practical learning and industry relevance. My Marketing Management course has been challenging yet rewarding, with modules like Principles of Marketing and Quantitative Methods providing a solid foundation.
Professors are knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to provide support during office hours or via email. However, some modules can feel more theory-heavy than practical, so it’s important to balance your independent learning e.g., gaining experience with class content.
The campus is one of Loughborough’s highlights, with the facilities being state-of-the-art, including the library, student union, and sports centers. The student union is particularly active, offering a variety of clubs and societies to get involved in. Whether you’re into sports, arts, or academic clubs, there’s something for everyone.
If you’re into sports, Loughborough is second to none. The university’s reputation as a top sports institution is well-deserved. Even as someone who doesn’t play competitively, I’ve enjoyed the gym facilities and intramural sports. The emphasis on health and fitness is inspiring.
The student community is welcoming and diverse. Making friends and building connections is easy, whether through your course, halls of residence, or extracurriculars. That said, the social scene is what you make of it. Loughborough is quieter compared to big cities, so if you’re expecting a bustling nightlife, you might need to adjust your expectations. However, there are still plenty of events and activities organized by the student union.
The campus is in a small town, which has its pros and cons. It’s calm and safe, ideal for focusing on studies, but it’s not as vibrant as bigger cities. Leicester and Nottingham are nearby, so you can explore more urban settings when needed. Transport links are decent, with buses and trains making it easy to travel.
Loughborough University is a fantastic place to study if you value a close-knit community, outstanding facilities, and a strong emphasis on personal and professional development. While it may not have the buzz of a city university, its supportive environment and opportunities for involvement make it a great choice for students who want to excel academically and socially. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-rounded university experience.
