Academics at Loughborough University

Loughborough University offers a wide range of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research Programmes. Undergraduate courses are split into modules, which provide an in-depth view of different aspects of a specific study area. Some of the modules are compulsory but students also get to choose among a list of optional modules. Students might also have the opportunity to learn a language in addition to their programme. The so-called foundation programmes are also offered by the University to students who might have not achieved the desired results or have not studied the correct subjects required to enrol in a specific programme. Students are also presented with study abroad opportunities, which allow them to explore new cultures and gain some international experience.

Loughborough University offers a wide range of Postgraduate degrees, including MSc, MA and MBA programmes as well as short courses and postgraduate certificates. Postgraduate students have the chance to undertake their programme in the new Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park campus in London. Students can choose between various research areas if they decide to do a research degree at Loughborough University.

Campus & Student Life

Loughborough University’s campus is located in Loughborough, England, which is a short train ride from London, Derby, Leicester and Nottingham as well as a 15-minute drive from East Midlands Airport. The campus is 440 acres, which is the equivalent of 250 football pitches. Although the campus is huge, all facilities are located within the campus, which makes everything very close. The University recently opened a second campus in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
