I am currently in my 4th year (out of 5) and overall have really enjoyed my experience at Leicester. The course has been varied and well structured. I have enjoyed the clinical years more as it has given us the opportunity to get hands on and put into practice the content learnt. The course has been as I expected (with exception to the remote learning period of course- but even then the med school took a lot of effort into creating online resources to prevent our learning being hindered too much).
Whilst a challenging degree, the staff at Leicester are approachable and ready to give support when needed and have a friendly pastoral support team to use if needed. Campus is nice, perhaps on the smaller side compared to some unis but has nice facilities. The SU has been newly redone and the library is large and modern, with plenty of study space. The city is diverse, which I love, so you will meet people from all backgrounds and ethnicities. Another (major) perk is that there are so many good food options in Leicester. Generally it’s an affordable city, with everything you need in fairly close range. The city centre is varied and a short walk from the train station and Uni. Overall, I’ve had a good time my past 4 years living here.
