Choosing a university and degree is not an easy process nonetheless the interdisciplinarity and support that the University of Essex has given me have made this process way more accessible. My degree is quite a niche subject area but UoE has empowered me through its vast library resources, conference and employee opportunities to expand my knowledge and job possibilities. Also, it counts with great academics and research possibilities. The balance between student social life and academic life is quite good and flexible. There is space for challenging the content of the classes and lecturers which is always a good base standard for any institution. Finally, lecturers are incredibly helpful if you look for them. I’ve had the best 3 years of my life studying at the University of Essex. Some negatives I would say are the lack of scholarships that support students for longer than the first year, and the difficulty of conducting research with individuals or addressing controversial topics.
