This is a great place to study, live and learn, there is great accommodation on and off campus, a wonderful large library building, 24 Reading rooms, 24 hours labs to study.
Waterstones, banks, restaurants, laundromat, tennis courts, football courts, as well as world class gym, sports facilities.
The teachers are passionate and invested, here you can learn and grow without ivory towers, but stellar staff and faculty.
I studied Sports and Exercise Science at this university and graduated last year July (2017). The student satisfaction at this university is second to none, they always went above and beyond especially during exam season. There were tea and coffee angels, a study BBQ and bouncy castle – they were just great. The location of the university also allows you to walk almost everywhere – the town, supermarket and any other places you need. I lived on campus in my first year which was extremely handy and then moved into private housing for my final two years. Overall Essex has been a great university to me and I believe will keep getting better, if any of you see this please do not forget to keep the students as your main priority, we may act like we don’t care but we genuinely do brag about you to others! Thank you Essex, you were great to me.
The university is good. I enjoy the psychology department lectures. There is also a lot of opportunities to get experience within the department if interested in an academic career with helping lecturers with their research projects as a research assistant. The equipment at the university is very good and it’s constantly improving the campus with new buildings. I would recommend.
