My time at UCL’s Public Policy programme was a rewarding mix of global exposure and academic intensity. As an international student, the transition wasn’t entirely smooth—particularly at the start, when coursework expectations were introduced without much orientation to the UK grading system. This initial adjustment phase felt overwhelming, especially for those unfamiliar with the academic culture.
However, once I found my footing, I appreciated the high standards and intellectual rigor of the programme. Having already completed a master’s degree in Political Science, I found UCL’s approach to research deeply enriching. It wasn’t just about writing papers—it was about refining critical thinking, questioning policy frameworks, and learning how to structure compelling arguments with evidence.
What stood out most was the multicultural classroom setting, which brought a range of perspectives into every discussion. This global lens, combined with practical coursework, gave me a better grasp of real-world policy application.
Overall, it was a solid academic experience that demanded effort but delivered growth—both personally and professionally.
