UCL is in an amazing location. I’ve taken a few classes in the Bioscience department and they have great professors. The campus has an interesting history. My main course of study is Economics.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT ATTENDING UCL. The main issue is because of the administration. There was an administrative error in my enrollment information that put a block on my account that prevented me from enrolling and registering for classes. It was an error so there was nothing I could do to resolve it on my end. I emailed my tutor and she didn’t help. I emailed the department in charge of visa information. They didn’t help. I emailed my department. No one helped. I spent weeks emailing, trying to find SOMEONE who can help me simply enrol and be in classes. It was horribly stressful. It was nearly a MONTH into the semester before I was able to be in all my classes: my classes of last choice because all my options filled up in the meantime. Then I was behind in all my modules the whole time! Then, due to changes with COVID, when I went home, I had housing instability during my exam window. I applied for extenuating circumstances and they did not get back to me before the exam date, so I was very stressed and had to take my exams from a hotel. The administration of this school is so unorganized. You won’t have time to be stressed about your courses, you’ll be too stressed about the administration. They don’t care. They don’t help. You will fail your classes because of the administration, even if you’re a very bright student otherwise. Don’t go here for Economics, go to LSE, I’ve heard great things. The biosciences department at UCL is actually quite organized and helpful. Just AVOID taking economics here AT ALL COSTS. It will cost your mental health and thousands of pounds. I want my money and time back. UCL is horrible.
